Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
These materials will provide my students with a structured tie dying and shibori experience. We all remember those fun activities in school with our classmates and I believe this opportunity will become a fond memory for my students to recall. Some of my students have never created a tie dye t-shirt before.
I am excited to use these supplies and materials to create lasting memories for my students.
They will learn the various styles and folding techniques, select their colors, and create a unique work of art that they can proudly WEAR!
Students will carefully fold the t-shirts while using the rubber bands and zip ties to hold their designs. The tie dye kits will provide students with a variety of colors to choose from to dye their t-shirts. The pitchers, tubs, and cooling racks will help to structure and streamline the dying process in the classroom. The Ziplock bags will be used to store the dyed t-shirts and the sharpie markers will be used to label each student's bag.
