This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I love teaching students the art and fun of tie-dying. It is the highlight of the year. This year, I want to give them the opportunity to give back to the community while having fun. Our community service project will include creating a variety of tie dyed items that will allow the students to learn and perfect various techniques for tie dying. These items will be sold to donate to the Roswell Community Disaster Relief which supports people with housing insecurities--especially after a disaster (such as a housefire).
This project will allow a group of students to learn a new skill, create a plan to market and sell the items, and learn the satisfaction of giving back to the community.
