This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Attendance matters! Our school has a big problem with student's attendance. Many of our students are missing nearly a month of school each year due to lack of clean clothes or school uniform.
Students are embarrassed to show up at school wearing dirty clothes.
They need clean clothes to wear to school every day. In fact, many of our families do not own a washing machine. They do their laundry in the laundromat which takes time and money. To help our students, I would like to provide my students and their families with a bottle of laundry detergent to wash their clothes. Students will feel comfortable and clean and will be less likely to be sick and absent from school.
