This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Have you ever experienced the fun and excitement of growing your own plants? Imagine if your plant was "ticklish" or a seemingly expired "dinosaur" plant! I would like my young scientists to have this unique experience.
I teach third grade at a southern California elementary school.
My students come from a variety of backgrounds. Many of them come from low-income households. They are eager learners who never cease to amaze me with their curiosity and insightful observations of the world around them.
My Project
These resources will allow my students to explore plant growth and development in an engaging, hands-on way. They will be able to track the growth of their plant and record their discoveries along the way. I am certain that they will be charmed and amazed when they discover that their new plant is "ticklish"!
Even the best textbook is no substitute for first-hand experience.
I believe my students will benefit from this scientific exploration and discovery. They will learn new and exciting things about the wonders of the plant world.
