This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students come from low income families and are not able to afford many things that they need for school. My students come to class everyday ready to learn. They enjoy learning math and working with each other. I am currently teaching AP Calculus AB, AP Statistics and Pre- Calculus, to be successful in these courses students need access to a graphing calculator. Currently my students are using TI 84 and TI 83 calculators that are over 15 years old. Some of these calculators barely work and their screens have spots that are not legible. Since my students come from low income families they are not able to purchase these calculators, so they rely on what the school can lend them.

Help me give my students new TI 84 Plus graphing calculators that they can use in class and also use during the AP Calculus and AP Statistics exam.

Having access to these calculators will not only help them complete in class assignments but also help them complete the AP Calculus AB and AP Statistics exam. These calculators will also help my students enhance their knowledge of the math topics that they are learning in class. I hope you can support my project so that I can make this a reality for my students. Thank you!
