This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are an exceptional group of young people that work hard to accomplish what is asked of them. They are learning problem solving skills and improving their scope of creativity. The students are enthusiastic to research, learn new things, and increase their knowledge and skills in the world of fine art.

The supplies I have selected will give my students what they need to be successful in the visual fine arts.

Due to COVID we are working to catch up for the lost classroom time. At the moment we are working to increase the skill level of the art students in digital art, and photography as well as the other art disciplines. The students have chrome books and they will be able to create projects at home on distance learning days and send it to the printer in the art room. We will also use the printer during class time. At the present time the Art Department does not have a color printer or access to one. This is very limiting to the goal of improving our technological skills in the art department.

Many of the projects created will help give them skills that will open up opportunities for them to find jobs in the future and enter competitions for scholarships. Most of my students do not have computers or printers in their homes, therefore this equipment will help them to accomplish their goals and increase their learning experience. Turpin is identified as a Title I school that is located in a rural agriculture community. Due to the drought, illness, and inflation the area is suffering financially and this will help my art students immensely. The students will create posters, photographs, and various other digital projects in class and out.
