When I asked my first graders about the problems they see around our campus and community, they shared "not being kind to others or themselves and not feeling proud". We talked about how many times with the hustle and bustle of life, we forget to take care of ourselves.
This month, I'd love to address those concerns with them and we'd like to throw kindness around our campus like confetti to boost self-confidence and kindness!
My students would like to speak out about showing compassion to self and others! By doing that, we will be making posters, making cards and leaving small tokens to boost confidence.
We have requested pencils and tokens to spread around our campus. We are also asking for clothespins to write inspirational quotes or sayings to show their worth and inspiration. We will randomly and secretly clip these onto backpacks. We thought that if we could provide trinkets to show our love, it would spread and inspire others to speak out along with us.
