This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Here at our school, we have a significant number of students that come from poverty and hard home lives. These students are performing below grade level and need a fun way to catch up. Many students do not have access to technology for academic purposes which would help decrease their learning gap. Instead, they are even further behind the current level of education.

Besides their home lives, we have very limited materials as a district and they are not buying any additional resources to supplement and support our learning and address our needs.

My Project

Students have missed some major fun this year. Through the pandemic, scholars have had limited social interaction with their peers. Gym has been completely different and recess has just resumed with restrictions.

Our plan is to have a special day for scholars to just socialize and enjoy their day.

The scholars will help create the rings in class and we will build the javelin throwing course. They will learn the rules and help train the other classes. These items will help create a javelin throwing contest, during our outdoor day.
