Through Their Lens: Inspiring Students to See Their World Creatively
Help me give my students the tools they will need to become proficient in media productions and giving them the opportunity to unlock the inner creative director within themselves!
As a STEAM Academy, we strive to provide our students with a variety of hands-on, invaluable skills that they can transfer over into marketable and useful skills they will take with them into their futures.
I am developing a new explorations class on our campus for my 8th-grade students that will be focused on teaching and growing their knowledge and skills of artistic communication and unleashing the creativity surplus each child has within themselves.
Media Productions will be an important addition to our campus as it pairs beautifully with many of the established programs we already have in place at our school. This includes our morning announcements, the school newsletter, yearbook, and our vibrant drama program. This exploratory will offer video production, creation, editing, weekly podcasting, photography, digital communications, and SO MUCH MORE. In order to bring this to life I am in desperate need of a class set of digital cameras. I have seen the excitement on students’ faces when they are given the opportunity to showcase the world from their point of view and I am so excited to provide them a chance to do this in a new and creative way!
