Through Their Eyes

Help me give my students with autism all the tools they need to be successful. From creating a calming corning, special lighting to learning materials for every day success.

My Project

I have been teaching special education for several years, mostly resource room. This past year I changed to self-contained Autism The Autism students rely on a functional calming area/corner. Also social emotional learning is taught throughout the duration of the day. I will be creating a new calming, sensory corner. The area will need low lights,soft seating, carpeting or a rug and other calming tools. Adding in special lighting, so the fluorescent lights can be turned down and adding more learning resources for individual goals for teaching emotions would also be needed.
