My Project
I’m looking to create a novel project based on social studies, especially historical fiction, in the classroom.
Being a Social Studies teacher for 3-5th grade elementary students has become a unique part of our school; and the students love to come to my class, weekly.
If I added narratives that explore historical events, cultures, and perspectives that foster critical thinking, it would only be more inviting for my students.
The goal is to create book talks and learning communities within my classroom which will foster the learning that is happening. Students will be able to choose from a variety of topics and times in history to further their knowledge of social studies.
