Help me give my students the materials needed to create three dimensional lighthouses.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Dexter's classroom raised $213
This project is fully funded
My Students
The fourth grade students are imaginative, inquisitive, out of the box thinkers, and well rounded individuals who love art and crafts. The students have been looking forward to the fourth grade in order to build the Cape Hatteras lighthouses. They have learned about clay, made clay ornaments, drawn lighthouses, drawn and painted cardinals, and would love a three dimensional lighthouse to complete their collection. The students specifically requested to do this special lighthouse project. They love learning about North Carolina. They have created a scrapbook over the course of the school year, and would love to add pictures of this project to the scrapbook!
My Project
Students are going to recycle cardboard and build three dimensional light houses. Building will go right along with STEAMA curriculum. It will use problem solving skills, creativity, math, and a engineering skills to build the structure. We will use a glue mixture to get lighthouses sealed. We need you to help us with the remainder of the project. The paint will make the students’ structures come to life. The sand will make the scene look realistic (and fourth graders will learn that sand in the soil in the coastal plains of NC). This will fulfill the artistic and social studies portion of the assignment. Students also want to take pictures of the structures to put in their fourth grade scrapbooks.
