Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

A typical day in our classroom consists of a morning, "Boundary Breaker" which is a challenging mind puzzle that our Gifted kids can work on. This activity gets our students' brains working for the day.

Our students are Gifted and very bright but they need a lot of motivation just like all students do.

Having challenging and new hands-on activities will help keep our students busy, motivated, and they will have fun at the same time. Our students enjoy their Gifted day of the week in our pull-out program and most of them feel like their Gifted day is their most favorite day of the week. They look forward to Gifted class and they would be super excited to get these new Extreme dot to dot books. They have already completed 2 sample ones that came in a mind ware catalogs I received last year. After doing so, they begged me to purchase these books for them to use. I promised I would do my best to create a DonorsChoose grant to get them the materials they so desired.

My Project

My students have an extra hour of Reading block time because our school received a very poor school grade on the FCAT(Our state standardized test) and the district has mandated extended school hours. With that extra hour of Reading time, we will need more hands-on problem solving and Gifted material to keep our students interested and motivated to learn while attending their Gifted class day.

If you help fund this project, you will make all of our Gifted students in our Gifted program very excited to receive these new materials.

They really do need the extra curriculum for that extended hour that will keep them interested and motivated to succeed in Gifted class. Thank you in advance for your interest in this project! ;-)
