My students need scrapbook supplies including colored paper, stampers, stick on letters, and ink pads so they can create memories of their first grade year!

My Students

What is a memory you have of 1st grade? My students grow so much during this year I want to create a scrapbook so they can see the milestones they have reached during this important year of their life. I have many items from my school days that I cherish and love to show my two children.

My students are wonderful despite the many challenges they face at school and at home.

75% of the students are on free or reduced breakfast and lunch and we are a Title 1 school. Some of my students have had to move around and their parents can't afford to buy yearbooks due to the economy. Therefore, these scrapbooks will hold memories for them to cherish for years to come. In the past I have paid for all the supplies, pictures and books out of my pocket and I have had to cut back therefore I am doing everything I can to continue this project.

My Project

My students will be able to help create their pages with stickers, stamps and markers. I feel this is very important that they have a sense of ownership in creating their memories. I love to see their faces light up when they get to be creative and see what picture I have taken of them. I hope these scrapbooks stay with them as they get older and they will be able to share them with their children one day. Many parents from previous years have shared their appreciation of having the scrapbook of their child's 1st grade year. It is so worth my time to create these special memories.

This project is very close to my heart just as these children.

I know this will make a difference in their lives and I will do anything to get this project completed. So if you can recall that special moment or that picture of your favorite teacher who opened the world up to you, donate to this project and you will have helped 20 children do the same.
