My students need an LCD projector to help US History come alive and grab their attention.
FULLY FUNDED! Mr. Hauser's classroom raised $843
This project is fully funded
I want to be able to grab the attention of my 11th grade US History students during class lectures by being able to show them vivid pictures in full color and video clips from respectable and interesting documentaries. These are available for free on the Internet. I want to help my students prepare for our high-stakes end of course test by showing them sample questions from the internet and working out the answers with them collectively.
Motivational speaker Dr. Adolph Brown says, "I can teach anyone anything once I have their attention". Right now my students are hearing about history, but seeing only text in black and white from an overhead projector or their textbook. They easily become bored with this presentation. Our school has over 70 teachers and only around five LCD projectors to lend out for teachers to use. My students (as do all of us) learn in different ways and many need that visual component to ensure success.
I feel that having an LCD projector readily available on a daily basis will help my students achieve success in US History. I will have the ability to create interesting presentations incorporating technology into the classroom that can keep their attention in order for them to learn. This is also something the students can use with student created projects and presentations where they can demonstrate their creativity and learning.
Your help will make learning in my classroom more fun and interesting for my students. They will be able to see History come alive and understand that it isn't just something they have to take in order to graduate, but something that will help prepare them for future learning, in college and beyond. I feel this project can improve the passing rate of my students on the end of course test and in the class overall. Thank you for partnering with me in this endeavor.
