This Pandemic Will Not Stop Me from Playing in Music!

Help me give my students instruments that they can call their own! Since COVID-19 has impacted my music classes tremendously, I did not want to deprive my scholars from playing instruments.

My Students

My students are some awesome scholars who come from challenging family situations such as single-parent homes, high poverty, homeless, academic and emotional learning challenges, and sudden loss of a parent or family member. Despite those challenges, the scholars at my school come to a safe place to learn, have fun, and strive to become a productive member of society. However, their parents or guardians do not have the opportunity to support their child's academic or extra curriculum needs for their child to grow beyond the classroom.

My students love to sing, dance, and, most importantly, play instruments in music class and get disappointed when there are not enough instruments to go around.

At performance time, they step into the limelight ready to show off the skills they learned in class.

My Project

2020 has definitely brought about a new excitement in a new normal at my Title I School. COVID-19 has taken the steam out of my scholars' interaction in the music classroom especially with playing instruments and moving. So as my district is moving to a Hybrid plan in November, I want my students in the building and remote to have their own instruments to play during class. By having their own instruments, it will cut down on sanitation after each class and they can also use them at home if we have to go back to remote learning. They will have their own individual music kits.

Additionally, I do need materials to hold up posters in class and materials to keep up with the various technology tools in the event my laptop goes out and I need another device.

Please help me help my scholars with their musical experience in a new normal!
