I want to give my students the opportunity to design and print 3D objects.
My students are motivated, curious and creative ninth graders that study the course gateway to engineering as an introductory course to the rest of their high school program. They are hard workers and deserve the best!
I would like to give them the opportunity to get high end hands on activities in the engineering field.
My Project
Using the "Printrbot Simple Maker's Kit Model 1405 3D Printer, 4" x 4" x 4" Maximum Build Dimensions, 100 Micron Maximum Resolution, 1.75-mm PLA Filament" my students will be able to print their own designed items directly from the Autodesk Inventor software. The other items are the printing raw materials.
In their current work my students print their designs on paper only.
The ability to print a real prototype will increase their motivation significantly as well as their ability to apply problem solving techniques in early design steps.
More than half of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
