My Students
Is it possible to be competitive in the 21st century marketplace, if you are not completely up-to-date with all of the latest technology? Are you going to compete on the highest level if you are not able to communicate effectively? Of course not! That is why these 28 Chromebooks are simply a necessity!
Our students come from a neighborhood where the expectations have been low, the environment terrifying, and the outlook bleak.
Despite these difficulties, these very special students have signed up for an extended school day, more homework, mandatory band participation and the highest of expectations so they can climb the mountain to college.
Our students know college is the key to a bright future and they cheerfully do all it takes to be successful. All they ask is that I make my class challenging and interesting so they can get excited about their day. With these 28 Chromebooks, not only will I be able make it interesting, I will also be able to make it the height of relevancy.
My Project
Picture this...you walk into my 6th grade classroom and every single student is on task, toggling between research and writing. They explore the world around them through Internet searches, while focused not only the grade level standards they need to be successful today, but also on the transformational skills they need to be successful in the expanding global marketplace.
With Chromebooks in front of them, I have no doubt that our students will be able to achieve the highest goals we could set in front of them. They are quickly mastering every skill with pen and paper, and it is exciting to think about what they can accomplish with the tools that most of their affluent grade level peers take for granted.
Our students have lived more, suffered more, and overcome more than most of us could possibly comprehend.
Not only do they need more than they get, they DESERVE more than they get, and by helping this project you can help start to tip the scales in their favor. I know that with their amazing work ethic, their rampant curiosity, and their zest for improvement, our students will make more of this gift than anyone could possibly expect. These students are only limited by what we can provide them.
