This Class is on Fire! If We Had Fire Tablets.

Help me give my students the opportunity to utilize technology, their imagination and their creativity through the use of Fire Tablets to listen to audiobooks, read stories, learn how to code, and creating digital portfolios of their work.

My Students

Our school is located in an urban, low-income area with high needs. We provide a 100% free lunch and tuition free program and provide many learning experiences that set up our scholars to achieve great successes in the future. My students come from a variety of diverse ethnic backgrounds. Each day we teach our students to be a scholar in every aspect. We want them to believe in themselves and know that they have a huge support system behind them rooting for them to succeed.

My classroom currently consists of twenty Kindergartners.

Despite the hardships my students face on a day to day basis, they know they are safe, loved and cared for once they walk through those doors. I want to provide my students with all the best opportunities to keep them just as competitive amongst their peers in the higher performing school districts. I want them to have exposure to activities that are harder for them to have access to due to funding such as various technology options within the classroom, STEM activities, coding, ect.

My Project

Many of my students are not able to have the luxury of having a classroom that includes any technology due to a lack of funding. I want to provide my students with an opportunity to be able to become experienced with working with technology, so they will be able to become competitive with their peers from public and private school that have more access to these higher-priced materials.

With the use of the Fire Tablets and the Osmo, the students will be able to learn how to code, make learning fun, listen to audiobooks, read endless amounts of stories, and create digital portfolios of their hard work they have created throughout the year.

Help my students have an opportunity to use technology and stay current on an ever growing technologically driven world, that many children have access to each and every day.
