This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

During the school day, we often break up in small groups of seven to give the students specialized attention. During English Language Arts, we will first do a whole-group lesson and then proceed to small-group instruction to focus on skills and ensure all students are learning.

I teach kindergarten in a public, urban school.

I have 27 energetic and inquisitive five year-olds. They are learning to work collaboratively and enjoy hands-on activities. The school has students in grades Pre-K through 6th grade, where all students receive free or reduced lunch.

My Project

I am requesting 7 small chairs to use at our teacher table during small group instruction. Due to budget cuts, we have had to make do with the materials available and sometime it is not ideal. Currently, I have chairs that are too big for my kindergarteners. They must sit with their feet dangling, which does not support proper poster and makes writing more difficult. With chairs that are appropriate, they will be able to sit more comfortably to learn.

Please help my students get chairs that are made for their small size and will promote learning.

Some items are necessary for students to learn and a chair that fits them is one of them.
