My students need Common Core problem solving journals, place value flip boards, and comparing fractions flip books.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Alioto's classroom raised $330

My Students
My students attend a public elementary school in northern California. The majority of my students are English language learners that come from low-income families with little support at home. Despite the fact that many of my students face challenges, both inside and outside of the classroom, they are enthusiastic about learning.
My students enter the classroom with big hearts and open minds, always ready to learn.
I strive to create an environment where my students feel comfortable enough to engage in the learning process. I want to provide my students with high interest materials to help them have the courage to participate and connect with the learning process.
My Project
My students will use these math materials to help them master the Common Core standards through hands on learning. Hands on learning will provide my students with additional support when struggling with challenging math curriculum.
These new resources will provide my students with an opportunity to practice and apply third grade math concepts.
My students will use the place value boards to practice reading, writing, and rounding large numbers. The Common Core problem solving journals will provide opportunities for critical thinking and will give them the chance to see math in real-world situations. My students will use the comparing fractions flip books with their learning partners for hands on practice with fractions.
These materials will be used independently, in small groups and in partnerships to help foster their understanding of various mathematical concepts.
