Third Graders Can Explore the World with a Touch of a Finger
My students need an Apple iPad 2, to have access to an unlimited amount of books, educational sites and applications and reference materials with the touch of a finger.

My Students
I am a fifth year teacher and teach third grade at a Title I school. 77% of students enrolled at our school are on Free/Reduced Lunch. My students come from low income homes with very little or no computer access. Their only exposure to technology advances are in the classroom, please help us!
I have eighteen third grade students who come from a variety of backgrounds.
My class includes kinesthetic, visual and auditory learners, as well as students who speak English as a second language. I have students who perform below grade level, on grade level, and above grade level. I cater to the individual needs of all my students every day, but need YOUR help to spice up our daily lessons. My students have never had the opportunity to explore Google Earth, or read any books with the touch of a finger. An iPad in our classroom would expose my third graders to the fascinating world of technology. It would provide them with a learning opportunity that they would NEVER forget. Reading a book off the shelf would slip their memory, but reading a book on a machine that you can manipulate with your finger!?! They would never forget that experience. An iPad could open up a door of endless possibilities for my third grade, low income, students and I. YOU can make a difference in their lives!
My Project
I am requesting an iPad 2. The iPad will be used on a daily basis for reading instruction, center time and exploration time, all under the supervision of me or another adult volunteer. This project would change my students lives for the better by providing them an unforgettable learning experience, and exposing them to the wonderful current advancements in the field of technology. This will be the only time a majority of my students will be exposed to something like this. This will create powerful, learning experiences for all of my students, myself included, for this year and many years to come. This will be used to enforce the achievement of all of my students.
This project is so important to me because I love seeing my students so enthusiastic and eager to learn.
An iPad will provide them with an excellent learning opportunity. Your donation will make it possible for ALL my third grade students to explore the wonderful world of technology. Without your help, I would not be able to furnish my classroom with an iPad. Thank you for contributing to the achievement of my third grade students. This will be an unforgettable learning experience for us all !!
