My students need balloon seats and active learning stools to help them focus in school. They also need an assortment of fidget toys to keep their hands busy during lessons and centers.

it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Loving, caring, passionate about learning...these are just a few words that describe my amazing third graders. These children have a passion for life and a love for the world they live in. They are always first to lend a hand or encourage a classmate.
At first glance you would never guess the struggles these students have been through.
All of our students are eligible for free breakfast and lunch, and many even get weekend food supplies sent home. Many come from single parent homes, or even a two parent home where mom and dad are working 2-3 jobs to make ends meet. They help take care of younger siblings and cousins. They translate for their family members who are working to learn English. These students are way more than your average third grader.
My Project
This year I created my first project through Donor's Choose and was able to get balance balls and bouncy bands for the students in my room. These materials have been a huge success!! Many of my students are struggling with ADHD and need to keep their hands busy at all times. Each child has a different preference. Some like Lego blocks, some like stress balls, others like to hold a small toy.
My goal as their teacher is to give them the tools they need to be successful.
I have found that even students who do not have ADHD have become more focused using alternative seating. I am asking for balloon chairs and the active learning stools to increase the variety of supplies I have available to the students. They should be able to choose what works for them, and have the choices that will make them successful students.
Having these supplies have made other teachers curious. They want to know about our special seating and why our class is so excited about learning. These materials would continue to help our class grow as learners and have the most opportunity for success. This will encourage our school community to try out new methods of seating and new ideas for all types of learners.
