This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Each year I learn to love what I do more and more. This year I teach a group of wonderful third graders in an inner city charter school in Indianapolis. I love working with students who remind me of myself when I was eight. We come from hard working families, who do everything to provide their children with the best. It is not always easy, and sometimes things get very tough, but WE always make it work. My students are loving, energetic, sweet, creative, smart, and deserve the world!

My Project

Reading daily is essential for student success. I love to see my students get excited to read when they see new books in our classroom library. Sometimes books don't make it back, but I'd rather be able to give my students the opportunity to read books, rather than denying the opportunity to read simply because it might not make it back. Books are checked out all the time. Any down time is usually filled with growing our love for reading. Some of my students even love reading for recess. Having books to pick from brings so many smiles in our classroom and nurtures their love for reading.
