My Students
The love of learning begins at a very early age! My classroom is full of very active little learners. Our children attend a Title I school that is located in an urban, high-poverty community, where 96% of the students are economically disadvantaged.
The majority of my students are either homeless or come from single-parent homes, which causes them to have limited access to everyday learning materials.
It is hurtful to say that so many of them have been through much more in their short 3-5 years than any of us could ever imagine. Even with that being said, they somehow find a way to come to school every day eager and ready to learn.
My Project
Literacy and books are very important in more ways than the unexpected way. Research shows and tells us that books allow children to travel to places above and beyond our wildest dreams without actually going.
Books give wings to our imagination, books are full of knowledge, joy, happiness, wisdom and so much more.
I teach the students in my classroom that books are more than fun. They allow one to think out the box and have the capability to transform into anything they choose. With your donation to this project, I can change lives one book at a time.
