My students need colored paper, crayons, colored pencils, scissors, and chart paper to support their creativity, bring their work to life, and help make my teaching stick.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am striving to raise the level of the quality of my students' writing. In my 2nd grade classroom, students really respond to printing their projects in color and seeing anchor charts that support their writing and learning. My students take pride in their writing and are motivated by color.
My students are a curious, fun, and motivated group of second graders.
Our class is an integrated co-teaching classroom (aka inclusion or ICT), so we have students with learning disabilities and special learning needs as well as a high percentage (over 80%) of English Language Learners. They love creating: writing pieces with great illustrations, fun and colorful math projects, and beautiful science and social studies works!
Our school is located in a low-income, high-need community. One hundred percent of our students receive free lunch. The truth is, we just can't afford to buy supplies, especially with so many recent devastating cuts to educational funding.
My Project
It is very sad when students' parents cannot even afford to buy them a set of crayons, but that is the reality for some of the students in my class. The resources that I am requesting in my proposal will help to bring fun, color, and creativity to my students' learning. The colored pencils and crayons will help my students illustrate, draw, and create to their hearts' content.
With so many video games these days, creativity and imagination are precious skills that are being lost. The printer paper, chart paper, and other supplies will support education in my classroom by helping me to differentiate assignments for my special needs and English Language Learner students.
Shouldn't all kids have crayons and markers?
It seems something most of us took for granted when we were growing up. Help me bring color and fun to learning in my classroom. My curious second graders deserve it! Any donation would be GREATLY appreciated!
