Help me give my students the joy of creating original works of art or cleverly designed Rube Goldberg style ball-runs using Keva Planks, simple wooden blocks that can be stacked.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our community ranks near the top in the state for English Language Learners and in subsidized housing. MOST of our students qualify for free or reduced lunch qualifying us as a Title I school.
The students in our school come from DIVERSE backgrounds.
We work hard to develop strong relationships with students and their families. Our teachers are committed to meeting the the social, emotional, and academic needs of all students!
My Project
We have recently created a Thinking and Tinkering Lab for ALL students in our school. Classes visit the lab to explore materials as they THINK and TINKER with their peers.
Keeva Planks will encourage students to build structures and solve challenges.
Our school has an integrated STEM focus which allows ALL students to participate in activities that encourage them to apply math and science skills as they solve real world challenges. Working with peers to build with Keva Planks will help develop social skills and enhance their understanding of engineering principals.
