Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are special because they are full of life and hope. They are happy and energetic despite the area they live in. The neighborhood and our school are in a low social economic area. The city doesn't provide many resource for the community, so my students are grateful for anything exciting or new that they experience.

My sixth and fifth grade students are caring and independent.

Throughout the day the you help each other out. They work well independently and in cooperative groups.

My Project

About a month ago, we started a new unit about our Earth's water supply and what is happening to it. They had so many questions about how human impact the environmental. For the project I choose books about climate change and endangered species because they can learn about what is happening on Earth. I also choose books about clean energy and recycling, so they can see what they can do to help some of these problems.

We need books on recycling, conservation, climate change, and endangered species.

with these books, I will ask my students to create a presentation about our environment and what we can do to help it. They can create a powerpoint or they can record themselves to present their information. They will use the books to gain knowledge about our ocean, land, and animals. From the clean energy books they will gain knowledge about what can be done to help our environment.
