Our school corporation is a rural district, trying to equip our students with the skills and experiences to be successful in our ever-changing world. I have the privilege to teach a multi-age kindergarten and first grade class. I love teaching literacy, problem solving, and thinking skills!
My kindergarteners and first graders are naturally curious and I want to help support them as they collaborate and learn creatively!
As their teacher, it is my goal to create opportunities to make them curious about the world around them. My goal is to empower them to ask questions and find answers. My students deserve it!
My Project
Many of my students are ready for advanced number sense talks. Several of my students are working on multiplication and need support in their thinking. This Daily Math Fluency Kit would provide materials to help deepen their understanding of multiplication, division, open number lines, and addition and subtraction in the thousands. The students that I teach love learning and I am always looking for ways to help support their mathematical thinking. A solid mathematical foundation is necessary, and these materials would help give my students the needed tools to support their learning. I want my students to understand the why behind multiplication and be able to explain their math thinking to others.
