FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. A.'s classroom raised $582
This project is fully funded
I am a second grade teacher at Glen Alpine Elementary. We are a title 1 school nestled between the mountains of North Carolina.
My students are having a difficult time remembering details about curriculum we have learned in the past. I thought it would inspire them to use a media platform such as Jeopardy to help them remember more details about what they have learned. Our next unit of study will be an environments unit. We will be studying various vegetation, life forms, and landforms as we learn about the interaction plants and animals have to the environment. I would like to take them through several webquests over the next few weeks dealing with the topics on the environment. We will also do much exploration comparing and contrasting living things and their lifecylces through literature. It would be a great opportunity to quiz them on what they have learned in several fashions, one being the jeopardy game, others being written works and formal paper and pencil quizes. The students could work in pairs to answer trivia questions related to what they have learned. Some will be recall, some will require higher-order thinking based on the comparisons they have made.
I would like to request a classroom Jeopardy game to add a little excitement to their learning. This will engage them in the use of a media platform they enjoy and will be successful in enhancing their learning experiences.
The children will benefit by increasing their thinking processes to see how the environment works and how plants and animals interact with the environment.
