This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
As a teacher in a low-income/high-poverty school district, I know my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with STEM creative and meaningful learning experiences. One of my objectives for this coming academic year is to teach my students by creating, building, and team building activities thru the engineering design process.
My Project
Our focus for this class is to prepare STEM students for the 21st century and equip students with real-world problem-solving skills that offer students opportunities for deep inquiry, engineering-based learning. All students will be empowered 21st-century citizens, engaged in comprehensive STEAM activities, and contribute to the improvement of a diverse global environment.
These STEM kits will provide a chance for my students to explore and create functional robot designs to spark their interest in engineering jobs.
These robots will help do just that as they work with a team of aspiring engineers to build their robot and hopefully beat the other teams in the classroom. The work they do will be meaningful and have a purpose for their own means. I want them to see education as a lifelong and fun adventure and become engineers!
