My students need a heavy duty pencil sharpener and a Chromebook computer to help them excel at researching scientific concepts.

My Students
My scholars are a diverse group of kindergarten, 1st and 2nd graders. In these classes, we read, research, discuss concepts and conduct experiments. Our school goal is for all scholars to gain 1 to 1 1/2 years' growth and to become independent learners. Technology can help us get there.
I have classes of kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade students.
They are inquisitive and curious. Our school is unique in the way that we are a Title 1 school, as well as a Magnet. Our parents are highly involved and volunteer on a regular basis. There is not a day that goes by that I don't see multiple family members helping or organizing in one way or another. Our scholars amaze me daily with their thirst for knowledge.
My Project
The Chromebook will be used for research, reading online science materials, and creating products to share information with others. The pencil sharpener will be used to keep pencils always ready and "on point" to write predictions, observations and conclusions in our Science Journals.
My project will benefit students by allowing them to take charge of their own learning, go beyond the Common Core standards, and become independent learners by reading online science books and materials, conducting research by using approved science websites, and by creating evidence of their learning.
