This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Imagine growing up in a time where technology ruled the world, yet you didn't have access at your fingertips. My goal is to give my student's the opportunity to explore and love learning through the use of iPads!
A home away from home; that's what my classroom and school is.
I try to nurture an environment where school is something that my students look forward to. Unfortunately for them, the school day is probably the best part of their day. Once the bell rings, who knows what they walk home to. My students are always curious and eager to learn despite the challenges they may face in their community.
My Project
"Think Different." From 1997-2002 that was Apple's slogan. That's my goal. With the use of two iPad mini's I will be able to integrate technology into small group instruction with the teacher.
During our math workshop, students will be able to complete different math activities to strengthen their skills by using programs such as XtraMath, IXL Learning, multiplication.com, and the hundreds of math apps in the apple store.
During our literacy centers, students will be able to utilize the iPad mini's to listen to a story and respond to comprehension questions. Perhaps they can choose books at their level by checking into our classroom digital library that would be set up on their iPad's.
My student's who are visual learners will excel. My special needs students will benefit beyond words because most are tactile learners.
I believe that every student across the nation should have an equal opportunity to what our education system has to offer.
Unfortunately in urban districts that's a challenge. Through your help and donations, my kids will be exposed to technology on the same level as other school districts.
Being exposed to all this technology will also prepare my students for the upcoming PARCC examination, which will be a computer based exam.
Help me help them, "Think Different!"
