This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are the best in the city! They are curious and thoughtful and love exploring new ideas. They are self-motivated and are always ready to discover new things. My students are articulate and have amazing conversations in class.
I teach at a Title I school in New York where most of our students receive free breakfast and lunch.
Despite the hardships they face at home, my students are always eager to learn about the world they live in. They amaze me daily.
My Project
I am asking for a class set of wobble chairs. I have six wobble chairs that we use in our guided reading and technology center. The students love sitting on these stools.
These stools help my special needs students get the movement they need while they learn.
Many of my students spend a lot of time moving in their seats, trying to get comfortable. In their movement comes the sound of scrapping chairs. The stools allow them to focus on the work rather on their need to move around. They also force students to sit upright, which allows oxygen to reach their brains when they need it most.
