My Students
My students are bright and thoughtful learners. Their minds and bodies are moving a million miles an hour. Each one of them has countless potential and I love to celebrate their uniqueness.
They are a new generation of learners that are energetic, inquisitive, and insightful.
They struggle to make sense of this fast-paced world and all the information and technology at their fingertips.
Many of my students struggle emotionally and socially due to various and unique circumstances, which in turn leads to academic struggles. Often they become overwhelmed and want to quit.
I strive to foster a classroom that is a safe, quiet, reliable place for them to learn, a place that they can find what is great about themselves, what they are capable of, and how to sort through the chaos around them.
My Project
Flexible seating options in classrooms have been proven to help students focus and help increase learning and engagement.
With these chairs they can wiggle, wobble, and move their bodies but their minds stay still and focused while learning.
They have bright and fast thinking minds, but struggle to focus enough to learn. Their learning becomes a struggle, they become frustrated, which often leads to behavior issues that disrupt the learning of all students.
During small, individualized group instruction, students can use the Hear Me Phones to hear themselves speak. This helps students who struggle with reading fluency.
