Help me give my students the opportunity to participate in sports such as basketball, football and soccer. The equipment is used by the entire school so truly everyone will be able to participate and experience these sports!
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The students of our school are at a disadvantage when it comes to using sports and playground equipment. The school is a Title 1 school and most years, the PE program does not receive a regular budget for purchasing equipment. The equipment being requested will be used by all students in the school. All students do come to physical education class and all students are exposed to a variety of games, activities and team sports. The students would really benefit from new equipment. It teaches them to respect the equipment to make it last so that others can benefit from using it as well. Various team sports are unfamiliar to many students and using the correct ball (soccer ball for a soccer unit instead of a generic playground ball) reinforces that learning.
