My Students

Do you remember the first time you realized how small your state was in comparison to the world?

My students lack an understanding of the global expanse and the differences in landforms and regions.

We live in the North Central Region of the United States which consists of mainly flat lands. My students attend a public school in Indiana. They are active and enjoy hands-on learning opportunities. We are currently working on Geography. We live in a high poverty area with 82% on free and reduced lunch. Most students have not experienced life outside of this region. In today's society, my students need global awareness and how their future is not tied to their current location.

My Project

My students will use these hands-on materials to cement in their minds what opportunities this world holds for those who dream big! We have experienced great growth in academic areas this year when we have the proper tools to use! Most of my students have never been outside of their county, so using the puzzle of the United States will help them see just how close our neighboring states are! After they have an opportunity to familiarize themselves with our country, we will use the large globe to learn about time zones, cultures, and opportunities in foreign lands.

Without supporters such as you, we would never be able to consider providing opportunities for our kids.
