This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are 6 - 7 year old scholars who miss their school community, their teacher, and miss their friends and everyday routine!

Many are also from low-income households, with parents who work really hard to support them, but don't have access to resources related to literacy.

Some of my students have access to computers during distance learning, but many other students, because they do not have reliable access to WiFi or internet only have access to paper copies of the digital lessons.

My Project

Computers are great, but real physical pieces of literature that will help my soon to be second grade scholars thrive during distance learning are what they need most right now!

During this difficult time, my scholars are missing the opportunity to have REAL books in their hands!

Especially books that promote and teach them about social-emotional experiences, multicultural awareness, and sparks interest in STEM based topics!

Right now, it is about the simple yet powerful resources that will bring joy while sustaining a love of learning during this time away from school!
