Help me give my students the experience of hatching chicks in their classroom. What an amazing opportunity for them to see the life cycle of baby chicks.
I am a second grade teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. I am in an early childhood center that ranges from PreK-2nd grade. I try very hard to make learning the best time of my students day. I want them to yearn to learn and leave me being life long learners. I value each and everyone of my students very much. I work so hard to find out what helps them to soar and thrive each and everyday. I want to make each lesson fun, motivating, and exciting. When they leave me at the end of the day the best thing to see is their bright smiles.
My Project
Spring is in the air in my second grade classroom. In the beginning of the year when my students entered into my classroom they were so EGG-cited! They all came in saying they were so happy to have the CHICK TEACHER! In my previous years of teaching, during the spring season my class and I would hatch baby chicks. It was amazing. These students that are with me currently remember visiting my classroom when they were in the younger grades to see the EGG-citing birth. I can not bring myself to tell them that the incubator stopped working last year. Please help me keep this amazing EGG-sperience alive for my students who have been waiting to be in the CHICK TEACHER'S class.
