My Students

Listening Center Woes: Headphones cords tangled, children arguing over the headphones, and a teacher becoming more frustrated having to deal with this problem day after day!

I teach at a school in central Florida.

We have a population of students that are economically challenged. 85% of the students qualify for free/reduced lunch program and we are a Title I school. The students are very needy and need much in the way of resources.

My Project

My Kindergarten students love reading. Reading is my students' way to build their limited knowledge base and expand their vocabulary. They need a headphone system that is wireless. They also need new headphones with the ability to adjust the volume. Adding some new books , they will hear their favorites more than once.

My students have limited access to books.

The listening center is a way for several children to listen to a story at one time. They are able to hear the story and follow along in the book. This is an important center in our classroom because every child can listen to a story every day. Having a wireless listening center will cut down on arguments and make this center more child friendly.
