My Students
My students are inspired by many different things. I try to find different creative ways to help keep them motivated to participate in each and every day.
I teach a 6:1:1 class of students with autism in a middle school for students with special needs in New York City.
My students use routine and structure to help them throughout the day. Many of them are visual learners who thrive on independent work. They are highly motivated by positive feedback and incentives.
My Project
Imagine the ability to soar through the air and see things you do not normally get a chance to see in a new unique way. Now, Imagine if you do not have the ability to leave your chair or have enough control of your body to look at specific things.
Imagine being given an opportunity to see the world like you never thought you would be able to.
My school has students with a wide degree of abilities and some are ambulatory and others are non-ambulatory (in wheelchairs).Getting a drone with a camera can help show the world (and neighborhood) to our students. We will use this to take pictures of our neighborhood and pictures of both school and students to be used in a student created yearbook.
