My English Language Learners need 10 thesauruses to help them develop their English vocabulary.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Ornelas's classroom raised $240

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I currently teach Language Arts, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies to 25 wonderful, enthusiastic, 4th grade English Language Learners. The community is composed of low income, Mexican immigrants.
English is a difficult language to learn because one word can mean many different things and we have many words that mean one thing. As an ELL teacher our focus is to build robust vocabulary. The thesauruses can be a great help with this.
I need 10 thesauruses to help my students find synonyms to simple words that they already have as part of their vocabulary. Instead of saying the 'hot' summer. They can find more creative words for 'hot', for example, sizzling, scorching, etc..
Your donation will give my students the ability to develop a robust vocabulary. The thesauruses will give them the confidence to write and speak at a higher level. Thank you for being such a generous contributor, in the growing, intellectual development, of our children.
More than half of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
