it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Every student that enters my class is encouraged to "think out of the box". Because of my high expectations, my students motivate and challenge themselves to think at the highest level of creativity. Students are always excited, curious and enthusiastic about what our next art project will bring. Even though most of the students are economically disadvantaged, they strive for excellence in the art room. I can see through their eyes their love for learning. They come to my class always ready, excited and prepared to learn.
My Project
"There's only one you" is a project that is based on a book. This project will celebrate the importance of individuality. Each student will paint their own "fish" rock with their own colors and patterns using acrylic marker paint. This project will also teach the students the importance of school community. All the “fish” rocks will be displayed together outside like a river full of unique fishes for everyone to enjoy.
My main goal for this project is for the students to learn that every individual big or small can influence and make a difference in the community of “fishes”.
Some of the materials are things I lack in my classroom. I have a student in a wheelchair that really needs accommodations. I really would like to accommodate him with the adjustable desk table so he can comfortably work on his art project.
