There's No Place Like Kindergarten!

Help me give my students some new items to make their Kindergarten year fun and special.

My Project

The children's table and chair set will make a great addition to our classroom "treehouse," what I call our playhouse/dramatic play area. This is where the kindergartners love to engage in different types of play-based learning. We have multi-cultural baby dolls, doctor and dentist sets, foods and dishes, community helpers dress-up costumes and many other themes that we use in this area. The table and chairs will give them a place for them to sit for these activities and enhance in the dramatic play that is so important at this stage in their development.

Kindergarten is such a special time when children learn to love school and learning.

The "spacemen" that we will use in our daily writing centers will help them with proper writing skills and make writing fun. Floor puzzles are a great way to work as a team in our classroom and building problem solving strategies. The numbers floor puzzle I have chosen will also help students achieve their goal of learning numbers to 20 in kindergarten. The "book buddy" bags will allow me to loan students books from our classroom library to take home and share with their families. This will encourage literacy and enhance the home-school connection, which is been proven to increase student success.

The birthday hat, stickers and treats will go with our classroom "woodland" theme and help our classroom family celebrate each student on their special day.
