My Project
Middle school is such a tough time for students. They are going through so much growth academically and socially. It can be very common for students to feel overwhelmed and just need a break every once and a while.
This project will help to provide materials and activities for our music room "Calm Corner" that will be used to help student deescalate, de-stress, and find peace during a busy school day.
There have many instances where students have been overwhelmed or just having a bad day from something that happened at home. Providing this space and these materials will help their mental health and will help them to feel like that have a place to go when things are getting tough and then just need some time.
As middle school teachers we are invested in building rapport with our students so that they know we care and want to see them succeed. Creating this space for them will also help them to feel seen, understood, and cared for!
