This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are in need of a new set of headphones to use with the many educational programs and apps we use in class to better understand our nation's complex history.
We use apps such as Nearpod, Flocabulary, and PBS Learning Media.
These apps are interactive with videos, games, and audio options. Many of these apps and programs also offer read-aloud options which many of our English language learners need to be successful. Some programs are also in the form of games that have fun sound effects which the students enjoy hearing while they "play".
Many of my 7th graders also enjoy listening to their own music while they work. Having a class set of headphones has shown that my students are more engaged in their assignments when their surroundings make them feel more comfortable.
