My Project

This is going to be an interesting, fun and exciting year of learning. This year, for the first time at our school, I will have a class of 1st and 2nd grade students, some that speak English, some the speak English and Spanish, and some that only speak Spanish. In addition, kiddos range from a prekindergarten reading, writing and math level to a 4th grade reading, writing and math level. With so many variables, I will have many different small groups at the same time. The LCD tablets will be helpful when I am with a group as students will be able to bring their tablet over, so I can see their work and provide support. They are light weight, kid durable, and there aren't any pieces to keep track of like white board markers and erasers. The styluses stay attach to the tablet. They are thin, making it possible for students to keep them in their book boxes on their tables. This also allows quick access, so we don't have to spend time passing out white boards, which have been used so many times they are almost impossible to erase anymore, dried up markers and worn out erasers.

The first "word" my students will learn this year is TRYSEES.

After all the only way to grow both academically & socially is to be willing to take risks, and TRY things to SEE what happens! With the LCD tablets students can demonstrate and share their learning in different ways. For example, they can draw diagrams, draw and label pictures and use it as a writing tool. In addition, they can easily erase multiple attempts and continue making new attempts. When they use the tablets they are more willing to take risks and give more thought to what they want to express.
