My Students
We are starting a brand new school in Cleveland that is centered on the International Baccalaureate curriculum. Our students come from all over Cleveland and represent a dynamic mix of ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds. The students, however, have one characteristic that truly stands out: their love and eagerness for learning.
We are working on developing our brand new school's library.
Our brand new school needed to start our library from scratch which can be a blessing but also a large challenge. We need to make sure our students have access to the books and technology they need to make their international education truly accessible to them and make the library a place students want to go.
My Project
We have a brand new library that we can design to make it appealing to students to use! In asking my students what they would like for their library, beanbag chairs came up several times.
Our library could use a comfortable place for students to relax and read during our study hall time.
Putting many different seating types in the library will appeal to students and bring them to the library more often Allowing students a comfortable place to read will increase their vocabularies and literacy for the demanding classes that await for them in the diploma program within the 11th and 12th grades.
