This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our school is a Title I funded, public kindergarten in Southern California. About two-thirds of my students are English language learners. At our school, we strive to help students become leaders who value quality education and embrace their roles as contributing members of our diverse community. My students are amazing and your contributions will make a huge impact on them every day! Thank you.
My Project
Thanks to the generosity of donors from Donors Choose I was able to create themed learning centers in my classroom last year. This year I am hoping to take these learning centers to the next level by re-opening our class library with books to go along with our themes! We explore themes such as insects, community helpers, arctic/polar animals, care of the planet, and care of body and teeth. We also do some fun fictional themes such as a gingerbread week around the holidays. I usually can get some of these books from our local library but as you can imagine, when they line up with holidays/seasons the books are in high demand and hard to get ahold of. To have these books for years to come would mean to world to me and my students. Thank you for considering our project!
