This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our school is a Title I funded, public kindergarten in Southern California. About 2/3 of my students are English language learners. At our school we strive to help students become leaders who value quality education and embrace their roles as contributing members of our diverse community. My students are amazing, and your contributions will make a huge impact on them everyday! Thank you.
My Project
These materials are seasonal themed items that will allow me to customize our centers by using them with our centers basics. I tried out these types of centers to help our class stay socially distanced during out in person time earlier in the year and the kids and I fell in love. The engagement and ability to focus was greatly increased when the center theme matched our read aloud and writing topics. I decided to make the full switch to centers as they not only were easy to keep safe during COVID-19, they were engaging, hands-on, and reinforced the skills we were practicing. The centers cover literacy, STEM, social emotional, and life skills! I am hopeful that with your help I can make our centers a special time of day for my students all year long.
